CAITLIN'S RESERVE CHARDONNAY Our Caitlin’s Reserve consists of early-ripening “Dijon” clones planted on Stoller Vineyard (Clone 76). The deep, basaltic-origin, clay-loam soils of this vineyard are ideally suited to ripening these French clones of Chardonnay. The vineyard is situated at the south edge of the Red Hills of Dundee, one of the north Willamette Valley’s most respected viticultural areas. Ranging in elevation from 300-600 feet above sea level, the vineyard’s southeast-to-southwest exposure has reminded vintners from Burgundy of the hill of Corton.

MEDIA REVIEWS

S.Tanzer's International Wine Cellar,
Mar/Apr 2008

Light, bright gold. Fresh melon and yellow plum on the nose, with a suave mineral quality adding complexity. Juicy cantaloupe and white peach flavors are concentrated and impressively energetic, picking up bitter quinine and sweet butter notes on the back end. Finishes with excellent lift, clarity and persistence.

90 points.

Rating: THREE STARS (out of 3). This wine - made from Burgundian clone 76 fruit - is sourced from Stoller Vineyards. The wine ’s name and label portrait by Ginny Adelsheim is of Caitlin Wells, who started helping at the winery’s open-house tastings when she was 5 years old. Bright and light with layers of crisp apple and stone fruit, toasted nut and spice hints, this wine has textural richness and focused acidity on its long, balanced finish.
