BRYAN CREEK VINEYARD PINOT NOIR Bryan Creek Vineyard is sited high on the southern slopes of the Chehalem Mountains, on basaltic-origin, clay-loam soils that store enough moisture to get the grapevines through our annual summer droughts. The 700+ foot elevation approachs the upper limits of where we like to plant, but its direct southern exposure provides some compensation. The grapes ripen a few days later than most of our other sites, allowing longer hang-time for great complexity and intensity of flavor.

MEDIA REVIEWS
Wine Spectator, Oct. 2008
Crisp in texture, with ripe currant and plum flavors that arch easily into a long, silky finish, the fruit and delicate spices lingering effortlessly. Drink now through 2016. 93 points.
The Wine Advocate, Oct. 2008
The 2006 Pinot noir Bryan Creek Vineyard is even larger-scaled. It is dark ruby verging on purple in color with the aromatics falling on the dark fruit side of the spectrum including black cherry, blueberry, and brambly raspberries. This is followed by a layered, sweetly-fruited wine with gobs of savory, spicy fruit, lots of minerality, and a long, rich finish. Give it 2-3 years of further cellaring and drink it from 2011 to 2019. 92+ points.
Wine & Spirits, April 2008
As fresh as Beaujolais when first poured, this wine's exuberant raspberry fruit takes on a tealike, earthy bass note with a day's air, suggesting it's a long way from full expression. Its precocious flavors have the balance to develop in the cellar, and thereafter to match roast chicken.
92 points.
S. Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/June 2008
Medium red color. Powerfully scented aromas of smoky dark berries, flowers and herbs. The palate displays sweeter raspberry and cherry, with dusty tannins adding grip. Picks up baking spices and sweet cola on the finish, leaving behind a tangy berry skin note. 90 points.
